Ag for ISD88
To the editor:
I love this time of year with combines rolling, harvest in full swing and all hands on deck. It pulses with activity and life and exemplifies how working together as a team we can get tremendous things done.
Agriculture is the foundation of this region, an economic driver and a way of life. Farmers have farmed these lands for over a century. Along the way we have built our towns, created businesses and started our schools. We have always been there because community and caring for one another is part of our core. It’s why the Ag community continues to step up when asked or when we see an opportunity to serve.
Our school systems in this region are the pride of us all. They pulse with activity and life of our youth as they gain skills and knowledge. They support building strong families, band our community as we cheer for our favorite team and develop young leaders who will serve the needs of this area. Our schools also promote agriculture through classroom instruction, activities and programs and provide unique opportunities that highlight agriculture careers. We need strong schools to have a strong community and a strong future.
Join our farming family in voting YES for the ISD88 school referendum on Nov. 8. We are being asked to renew the current levy that already exists that has provided so many opportunities for our students. Agriculture rates are based just on the value of the home and one acre. We as an agricultural community have the opportunity to work as a team, all hands on deck, to support our youth and schools. Together we can impact the growth and viability of our region by voting YES on Nov. 8.
