Derangement – or Patriotism?

To the editor:

I have heard that those of us who voted for and still support President Trump are said to be part of a cult because of our fervent support. They say when we want to be assured that the election was not fraudulent we are blind, conspiracy theorists. They say we are deranged.

Who are the people being described in this way? If the above derogatory terms are meant to describe all who voted for President Trump, I would say that those descriptions are broad, sweeping over-generalizations — unless the so-called cult of “Trumpists” is meant to include all of the at least 75 million citizens of American of various backgrounds who voted to re-elect their president.

Are those descriptions intended to include the “deranged” Americans who are for lower insulin and other drug prices, opportunity zones for the disadvantaged (including blacks), keeping biological men out of women’s bathrooms and sports, saving our unborn infants, school choice, keeping sexual predators out of our country, controlling human trafficking, supporting law enforcement, having a robust economy, lower taxes and gas prices, free speech, freedom of religion, election integrity, being able to be trusted to make personal choices without government interference, and having judges judge and legislators legislate, etc.?

I guess I would be included among the deranged then. People who go to extremes and/or Trump’s tweets and twitters do not erase the above. I, for one, voted for President Trump because of his policies and the promises he kept. I continue to pray for our current leaders while deploring what they are doing to our country and the values it was founded on. This is about preserving America. I hope that is not considered deranged. God, bless America.
