MLC is thankful

To the editor:

The campus family at Martin Luther College read with great interest the article that was published in Friday’s Journal entitled, “Infection rates soar in college towns as students return.” In case our dear friends in the New Ulm community are curious, we at MLC are very thankful that has not been the case on our campus up to this point.

The Lord has blessed us with cooperative students, supportive health-care agencies, and positive cases that are still in the single digits. Most of our students who need to quarantine due to exposure or isolate due to positive COVID tests are able to do so at home so the impact to our local and campus community is minimal. We pray for those who are impacted by this pandemic and will continue to work diligently to keep our campus safe and our community healthy.
