MN Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony held

Friday, The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame (MMHF) officially inducted six new members. Marv Nissel, Augie Garcia, The Castaways, Herb Pihofer, Mark Kreitzer and Myron Muehlbauer will join over 200 other inductees since the hall opened in 1989. Each of the new inductees will receive a new display at the MMHF located at 27, N. Broadway. The new displays can be seen during the special 2025 Inductee Showcase from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Weather forecast looks good for prom night in New Ulm

Expect to see a lot of well dressed teenagers in New Ulm Ulm tonight, because it’s prom night for all three local high schools. New Ulm High School, Cathedral and Minnesota Valley Lutheran are all holding their spring dances. The public can expect to see members of the different high schools getting photos in and around New Ulm before the dance. The weather forecast for Saturday calls for sunshine with some clouds with a slight chance of rain. It should be a great night for the high schoolers and their families.

Vikings select

Jackson in NFL draft

The NFL Draft began Thursday night and will continue through Saturday, but Minnesota Viking fans already have reason to celebrate. The Vikings selected Offensive Guard Donavan Jackson during the draft. Jackson was the 24th overall draft.  The Journal Sports Department praised this selection. The addition of Jackson completes Minnesota’s offensive line and makes the team one of the top units in the league.
