LAMBERTON--Gerald Martin Moldan, 89, of Lamberton, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel with a Prayer Service and Rosary beginning at 5:00 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Father Paul Wolf. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, MN. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Gerald Martin Moldan was born on October 7, 1936, to Anton and Martha (Krzmarzick) Moldan in rural Sleepy Eye. He was baptized and confirmed at St Mary's in Sleepy Eye.
On March 31, 1959, he married Lucy Tauer of Morgan and moved to a farm near Lamberton where they raised 8 children.
Gerald loved farming and his family. His strong faith, love for his wife and family, and generosity were a great example for all. Gerald always had a strong work ethic which he instilled in his family. Providing sweet corn for corn camp for the family. He was always ready for a card game and loved to socialize. He had a smile on his face all the time and a great sense of humor. Gerald's favorite treat, that he ate almost daily, was ice cream.
He survived a near fatal heart attack at age 59 and knew God gave him another 30 years to complete his mission here on earth.
Gerald is survived by his children – David (Cindy) Moldan of Lamberton, Jane (Richard) Meidl of Lakeville, Laurie (Mike) Tabery of Plymouth, Julie (Kurt) Harries of Plymouth, Alisa (Bruce) Weber of Saint Paul, Marty (Gwen) Moldan of Lakeville, and Rachel (Travis) Lind of Prior Lake; grandchildren – Christopher (Lauren) Moldan, Daniel (Crystal) Moldan, Matthew (Amber) Moldan, Andrew Meidl, Zach (Claire) Meidl, Rebecca (Cam) Courtright, James (Mikayla) Tabery, Bryan (Nikki) Tabery, Anthony Tabery, Michael (Kristen) Harries, Mark (Ali) Harries, Marie (Michael) Dehmer, Amanda (Dan) Kieffer, John (Corey) Weber, Emma (Dan) Holperin, Allison (Ty) Frazier, Alena Moldan, Gavin Lind, and Gia Lind; great grandchildren, Olivia, Carson and Cooper Moldan, Addison Moldan, Chloe, Eli, Noah, and Caleb Moldan, Henry and Charlie Meidl, Marvin, Ferris, and Journey Courtright, Evan, Kane and Jack Tabery, Cleo, Kit and Shay Tabery, Lucy and Levi Harries, Hadley and Laney Harries, Oliver, Ethan, and Laura Kieffer, Kate and Reese Weber, Mark Holperin, and three more expected arrivals; siblings- Marlyn (Mary) Moldan, Harold Moldan, Arlene (Jerome) Tauer, Delores Warner, and Jerome (Mary) Moldan; sister-in-law, Deborah Moldan; and nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lucy of 64 years, their son Andre Moldan, grandson Matthew Harries, brother Ervan Moldan, sister Lorraine Sampson, brother Melvin Moldan, and brothers-in-law – Art Warner, Cletus Homan and Glen Sampson.
