NEW ULM--RoseMary Hildegard Kunz (Rosie), age 89, of New Ulm, died peacefully Monday, September 14, 2026 in hospice care at Woodstone Senior Living in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - North Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Monday at the North Chapel. The Christian Mother's Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Cathedral. Rosie is survived by her sons, Michael of Minneapolis and David of Gilbert; grandchildren, Francisco and Sofia; brother, Ben Stadick of Lafayette; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles; daughter, Susan; her parents; sister, Janet Helget; brother, Richard Stadick; and sister-in-law, Jan Stadick.
Rosie was born on November 9, 1936 to Benedict & Marie (Leick) Stadick in Nicollet County. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1954. Rosie married Charles Kunz on September 17, 1960 at St. George Catholic Church. Together they raised three kids (Sue, Mike & Dave) and were active following all the family sports, activities, and travels. Rosie worked most of her career at the Minnesota Workforce Center, where she enjoyed helping people that were seeking employment. She also was a volunteer for the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, was an election poll worker, and helped with a variety of clerical tasks at Cathedral. Rosie was a master gardener, enjoyed traveling, quilting, and was a great cook and baker. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Mother's Society.
Rosie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
