NEW ULM--Edna Christina Anna (Gieseke) Roegiers, age 97, of New Ulm, MN, entered eternal rest in the early morning of August 27,2026, from Havenwood Senior Living in Minnetonka, MN.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Swan Lake Church in rural New Ulm, with Pastor Ken Bentson officiating. Burial will follow in the Swan Lake Cemetery. As the 2nd youngest of 7 siblings born to Fred and Frieda (Ulrich) Gieseke, she grew up on their family farm in Nicollet County, MN. Edna graduated from New Ulm H.S. and subsequently earned an administrative associate's degree at a business school in Mankato, MN. She was employed by Kraft Foods in New Ulm, MN, for 37 years.
Edna married Daniel Roegiers, the love of her life, on July 12, 1963. They lived on their New Ulm farm for 26 years, raising their combined family of 10 children. Dan and Edna moved into the city of New Ulm after Edna's retirement.
Along with her many varied hobbies, a major highlight of her life was a skydiving adventure at the age of 84, something she "always wanted to do".
In her later years, Edna travelled the world to numerous European and Asian countries, as well as various U.S. destinations.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; 6 siblings; husband, Dan Roegiers; daughter, Robin Johnson; stepson, Bruce Roegiers; grandson, David VanVliet; and husband, Wayne Menton.
She is survived by her son, Jesse (Andrea) Menton; stepdaughter, Kathy Roegiers-Jensen; daughter, Gail VanVliet (George); stepdaughter, Cris Kocinski; daughter, Debra Campbell (Tom); stepsons, Brian Roegiers (Naomi), Bradley Roegiers, and Brett Roegiers; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
