Thomas G. Bose

MONTICELLO--Tom passed away of natural causes on Sunday June 21, 2026 at his home in Monticello, MN. Born on September 7, 1952 to Joseph and Carolyn (Fleck) Bose in Comfrey, MN. Tom always referred to Comfrey as home.

He graduated from CHS in 1970 and attended St. Cloud State University for 2 years before being drafted. He enlisted in the Navy and served from 1972-1975 as an Engineman aboard the USS Blue RIdge (LCC-19). After being honorably discharged Tom returned to SCSU (reuniting with the TU's) and completing his degree (BS in Industrial Education).

Tom spent several years in construction operating/maintaining heavy equipment. From 1990 to his retirement in 2018, Tom was employed as a Construction Supervisor for the City of Monticello.

Tom had 43 years of sobriety and lived life on his terms. Forever a mechanic, he repaired, rebuilt motorcycles and Wheel Horse lawn tractors. He enjoyed attending music concerts, hunting, pull tabs, meat raffles, swap meets and preferred Harley's to any professional sports team. Tom was stubborn and opinionated but always remained devoted and true to his family, faith and the many friends he made in his 73 years.

Survived by: Sister-in-law; Lynn Bose, Sisters; Beth Hayes, Linda (Kyle) Peterson. Nieces; Andrea Hansen Fuller, Elizabeth (Ross) Burgard, Megan (Andrew) Hoertsch. Nephew; Benjamin (Katherine) Peterson.

Grand nieces and nephews: Gretchen Hoertsch, Linnea and Anna Peterson, Anthony Hansen, Tristan Fuller, John and Will Burgard, Peter Hoertsch, Everett Peterson. Godfather; Jerry Fleck, numerous cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by parents; Joseph and Carolyn (Fleck) Bose, brother; Tony Bose and brother-in-law; Warren Hayes.

Interment: A committal service with military honors will be on Wednesday August 26, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave. South Minneapolis, MN 55450). If attending, please arrive 15 minutes early, enter the cemetery through GATE 2 (Funeral Cortege) and look for signs on the left-hand side, meet in ASSEMBLY AREA 3 please wait at the NORTH END OF THE LANE.

Celebration of life: August 26, 2026, 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Monticello American Legion Post 260 (304 Elm St. Monticello, MN 55362). In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials honoring Tom be made to the organization or charity of their choice.
