SLEEPY EYE--Marlene Joyce (Rix) Lambrecht, age 92, of Sleepy Eye, MN, died on August 16, 2026, at Vista Prairie at Ridgeway on 23rd in New Ulm, MN. Funeral Services will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Interment will be at the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Marlene (Rix) was born January 31, 1934, to Leroy and Elsie (Janisch) Rix in Sleepy Eye. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1951 and went on to nursing school at Glenville Heights. She later worked as an LPN, Physical Therapy Assistant, and a foot care provider. On November 17, 1956 she married Delmer J. Lambrecht at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. They enjoyed many years of marriage together before Delmer's passing.
Marlene was involved in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and held many district and state offices, including state president. In her free, time she liked baking and preparing meals for family and friends. She participated in bowling league for a number of years. She also loved cheering on Minnesota sports teams, including, Twins, Lynx, Timberwolves and the Vikings.
Marlene is survived by her son, Gary (Diane) Lambrecht; daughter, Wendy Lambrecht; grandchildren, Jon Lambrecht, Mike Lambrecht, Amanda (Hunter) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Logan, Liyah, Jasmine, Taylor, and Gabby Lambrecht.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Lambrecht; son, Randy Lambrecht; parents, Leroy and Elsie Rix; brother, James Rix; sister, LaVonne Menk, and several nieces and nephews.
