Barbara A. Ranweiler was born November 26, 1950 to Waldemar and Marie (Bastian) Ranweiler. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1968.

Barbara was united in marriage to Roy Brueske on July 31, 1976, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with a son, Nathan Brueske.

Barb worked for many years as a school cook; First at DMLC (Martin Luther College), then at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School. Even in retirement she could be found as one of the "helpful smiles" serving as a clerk in the New Ulm Hy-Vee Delicatessen, where she enjoyed being able to socialize with her customers.

Outside of work, her true sanctuary was her backyard garden. She possessed a remarkable green thumb and loved working with her flowers and growing tomatoes to can for homemade salsa. She also enjoyed Trap Shooting at the Sioux Valley Gun Club, and Bowling in the "Happy Hour" League on Thursdays at Concordia Lanes. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
