Wilbert Carl Schauer was born January 28, 1930 to Arthur and Viola (Kuehn) Schauer in Bismark Township, Sibley County. He was the only son of 7 children. He attended country school and began farming alongside his father at a young age. Farming was not simply his occupation, but his way of life, and he devoted his entire life to working the family farm where he also made his home. In addition to his years of farming, Wilbert worked part-time at Green Giant. He remained on the family farm and lovingly cared for his mother as she grew older. Wilbert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors. He took great pride in his garden and was always happy to share the fruits of his labor, delivering fresh produce to family members and friends. Above all, Wilbert was a man of deep and abiding faith. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he faithfully served in various roles over the years. His church was an important part of his life. Wilbert will be remembered as a loving and dependable brother, a dedicated farmer, and a faithful servant of God. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
