She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Rausch; her sister, Diane Rausch; and her nephew, Benjamin Rausch.
Carolyn “Carrie” Rausch was born on March 20, 1952, in Mankato to Donald and Elizabeth “Betty” (Lenertz) Rausch. She was united in marriage to Michael Ress on October 6, 1972, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Together, they built a life in New Ulm and were blessed with two daughters.
Carrie worked at 3M for 10 years. She later ran an in-home daycare, caring for many children, and eventually worked at New Ulm Senior Dining for many years. Carrie found joy in quilting, baking desserts and cookies for those she loved, camping, and spending time on the water. She generously volunteered with several organizations, including the Red Cross Blood Drive, and regularly donated blood. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted Christian Mother.
Carrie especially cherished time with her family, celebrating Christmas together, taking summer trips to Cross Lake, and embracing her role as a mother, grandmother, aunt, and caregiver to so many. She had a nurturing spirit that extended beyond her family to daycare children, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood kids. Her kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Oak Hills Living Center and Allina Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Blessed be her memory.
