NEW ULM–Michael Marquardt, age 59, of New Ulm passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at his home in New Ulm. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – North Chapel in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the Current Cemetery in rural New Ulm. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – North Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the North Chapel. Mike is survived by his sister, Tammy (Bernie) Marquardt-Pieper of Shakopee; brothers, Mitchell (Robin) Marquardt of New Ulm, Darren (Mary) Marquardt of Courtland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Michael Ross Marquardt was born December 19, 1966 to Richard and Doris (Barnell) Marquardt in New Ulm. He graduated from high school and went on to Vo-tech in Pipestone. Mike returned to New Ulm and worked at New Ulm Body Shop. In his free time, Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching hockey – especially the Minnesota Wild. He was a former member of the Madelia Golf Course and Fairfax Golf Course. Mike will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
