Brian Robert Schuck
NEW ULM–With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brian Robert Schuck, 65, of New Ulm, MN – a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born August 31, 1960, in Mankato to Robert “Bob” and Kathryn “Kay” (Masters) Schuck, Brian grew up surrounded by family and the values that shaped his life: hard work, integrity, and a love of the outdoors.
After graduating from Nicollet High School, he studied business at Mankato State University, where he met Shelly Sinell. They married on June 7, 1980, and together built both a family and a legacy, raising four daughters – Holly, Theresa, Tracy, and Sydney – and proudly operating the third-generation family-owned Chevrolet dealership.
Brian was happiest outdoors, especially on Swan Lake, sharing hunting adventures with friends and family. As “Papa Brian” he adored his grandchildren and never missed a chance to spoil them with cookies or M&Ms, and cheering them on in their activities.
To hundreds of others, he was also “Coach.” For decades he guided young softball players, especially pitchers, to find great success on the field and in life.
Brian is survived by his wife, daughters, father, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral service will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Father Mark Steffl will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel and will continue from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
