Linda Mae (Luepke) Wellmann

NEW ULM–Linda Mae (Luepke) Wellmann, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025 at Oak Hills Living Center. Born on February 28, 1947, in New Ulm, MN, to Melvin and Mae (Johnson) Luepke, Linda’s life was rooted in her strong faith. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life.

Linda graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1965. She dedicated her entire 36.5-year career to 3M in New Ulm, where she formed lasting friendships. Known for her generous spirit and warm heart, Linda cherished her many social circles, including her 3M colleagues, church friends, St. Paul’s Lunch Ladies, Red Hat friends, and fellow Treasure Haus volunteers. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and brought joy to countless lives with her kind and compassionate nature. Linda’s delicious Brownies and Rice Krispie bars, along with her famous deviled eggs, were a welcome sight at any social gathering.

Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy Klockziem and her husband Jonathan, of Maple Grove, MN; her special friend, Jonathan Reinhart; and her dearest friends, Gayle and Norm Weiske, and brothers, Larry (Donna) Luepke and John (Lorna) Luepke; grandchildren, Skye, Alexander, RaeAnn Retzlaff, and Kyra (Lucas) Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mae Luepke; and her cherished aunts, Lucille Johnson and Violet Hansen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Linda’s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College or a charity of your choice.

Linda’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oak Hills, New Ulm, for their exceptional care, love, and devotion. Your kindness was a true blessing.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Scott Oelhafen officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel, and will continue from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the church. To leave an online condolence for her family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: www.mvfh.org
