NEW ULM–Marianne Mildred Bianchi, age 84 of New Ulm, Minnesota, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Ridgeway on 23rd.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday April 22, 2025 at St. George Catholic Church in St. George. Interment will be in the St. George Cemetery adjacent to the church.Visitation will be at St. George Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the mass. Marianne was born on June 18, 1940 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Joseph and Rosela (Hoffmann) Hillesheim. She grew up on a farm south of Iberia and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sleepy Eye, MN. After high school she attended Mankato Vocational-Technical College and graduated from the secretarial program.
On October 6, 1960 Marianne was united in marriage to Fredrick James Bianchi III at St. George Catholic Church. After marriage, Marianne worked as a devoted farm wife and homemaker for her husband and eight children. After the children had grown up and Marianne and Fredrick moved off the farm, Marianne had a featured column of home stories in the Agri News. She was a 4-H Food Leader and was the Director of the much loved, Holy Land Dinner Theatre plays at St. George. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed hosting friends and playing cards. Marianne loved Hershey’s kisses and volunteering at Becky Bakes.
Survivors include: Eight children: Brenda (Rodney) Smith of St. Croix Falls, WI, Bonnie (John) Mohr of Glencoe, MN, Becky (Paul) Waibel of Searles, MN, Belinda (Scott) Ash of Milaca, MN, Barbara (Scott) Clayton of Celina, TX, Beverly (Scott) Williams of Chesapeake, VA, Fred (Laura) Bianchi of New Ulm, MN, Betsy Chambers of Medford, MN, 22 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Sibling: Lorraine Reinhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Rosela Hillesheim, her husband Fredrick James Bianchi III, and her siblings: Martin Hillesheim, Melvin Hillesheim, and Dolores Hillesheim.
