Ardith Longworth
Ardith Longworth, age 92, of New Ulm passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her home in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Bob Lund will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier’s Rest section.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Ardith is survived by her daughters, Sharon Sprung of Buffalo, Wyoming, Lori (Brian) Ebert of St. Louis Park; son, Mark (Susan) Longworth of West St. Paul; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren, in 2015; her parents, George and Irma Pinkert; Lauren’s parents, George and Marian Longworth; son-in-law, David Sprung; her family, Marian and Bob Buescher, Milton and Sylvia Pinkert, Judy and Charles Strege, George and Linda Pinkert, Clifford and Irene Longworth, John and Joyce Boase, and Neil and Shirley Longworth.
Ardith Elaine Pinkert was born March 29, 1932 to George and Irma (Schwandt) Pinkert in rural Grant County, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural South Dakota. In 1950, she graduated from Ortonville High School. On September 23, 1950, Ardith was united in marriage to Lauren Longworth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Their union was blessed with three children. The family moved to New Ulm, where they resided for 64 years. In addition to being a wife and mother, Ardith worked mostly in retail sales and was a custodian at her church for 10 years. Ardith enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She was a member of Redeemer LWML for many years, and she sang in the church choir for over 50 years. Ardith will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
