Gladys was very involved at the United Church of Christ. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Aide, taught Sunday School and Beehive, served coffee hour after church, and anything else that might be needed. She also headed up the Valentines for Shut-ins program where she would bake an assortment of valentine cookies and plate them to distribute them to church members that were no longer able to come to church. She also volunteered to help at her children’s Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops.
Family camping trips were among the family’s favorite pastimes. After their family was grown, she and Mike continued to take trips in their camper as long as they were able.
