NEW ULM–George Walden, 89, of New Ulm died Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home. Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, July 12, 2024 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. George is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Steve) Kraus of New Ulm, Jody Kohn of Lafayette; grandchildren, Derek (Lyn) Neidecker and their son Anthony; Micah (Tatiana) Neidecker and their children Katelyn, Sofie and Myles; Kevin (Riley) Neidecker and their daughter Claira; Caitlin Neidecker and her children Blake, Jayce and Ahria; Shawn Kohn and her children Devlen and Chayton; sisters, Lorraine Shewe and Alice Roberts; brothers, Jerry (June) Walden of Indiana and Ted Mattison of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, Eddie, Jim and Vernard Walden.

George William Walden was born January 1, 1935 in Sleepy Eye to Lawrence and Lydia (Hoppe) Walden. He was united in marriage to Darlene Hirchert on May 4, 1956 in New Ulm. George worked in the construction business his whole life starting at Luebbert Construction, Walden Construction with his brothers then self employed until his retirement. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and bowling.
