RJ is survived by his children, Olivia and Walker, mother Nanci Blashack, and sisters Ruth Blashack and Rian Smith.

RJ was born on January 28th, 1999, in Alexandria, MN, to Nanci Blashack and Rory Rowles.

RJ enjoyed music and once aspired to start his own rock band, with his biggest fan being his son, Walker. Walker loved listening to his dad play guitar. Although his dreams of being a rockstar did not work out, he hoped his spot on British accent would eventually lead him to Hollywood. Though his dreams shifted, he proudly served our country in the Army National Guard. RJ had hustle and heart, he worked hard at anything he set his mind to. He found immense joy in spending time with his children, Olivia and Walker, and his bond with them was unbreakable. He was admired graciously by his daughter Olivia, they enjoyed making slime together, to the point they were determined to make it a business venture. Olivia enjoyed her accompanying her dad whenever she could to the fair.

In addition to his love for his family, RJ had a passion for the outdoors. He found solace in fishing and hiking, often seeking adventure in nature’s embrace. Whether casting a line into a tranquil lake or exploring winding trails, RJ’s spirit soared amidst the beauty of the wilderness.

RJ valued the camaraderie of friendship, enjoying the simple pleasures of sharing stories and laughter over a few cold beers with his boys. His genuine warmth and infectious laughter brought light to any gathering, and his presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. RJ’s legacy of laughter, love and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, dark humor and unwavering loyalty. May his spirit live on in the cherished moments shared with all who loved him.

Floral tributes can be sent to Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – North Chapel.
