NEW ULM–Wallace “Wally” A. Guggisberg, 87 of New Ulm (formerly Lafayette) died peacefully on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, at the Ridgeway on German Senior Living Community in New Ulm. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.  Burial will take place in the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Cemetery in Lafayette where the Lafayette Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, and continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home- North Chapel in New Ulm. Wallace is survived by his wife, Louise Guggisberg of New Ulm; his daughter, Charlene Guggisberg of St. Paul; his sons, Brian Guggisberg of Hutchinson, Al Guggisberg of Lafayette, David Guggisberg of Litchfield; his 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold (Aurelia) Guggisberg, Melvin (Dorothy) Guggisberg, Richard Guggisberg; his sisters, and brothers-in-law, Florence (Clarence) Mohr, and Esther (Ralph) Schaefer.
