Jimmy enjoyed a career at 3M in Minnesota before retiring. A dedicated member of the North American Fishing Association, Jimmy spent countless hours on the water, casting his line and finding peace in the tranquility of nature. His love for fishing was infectious, and he often shared his knowledge and skills with friends and family.

A man of boundless generosity, Jimmy found joy in making a positive difference in the lives of those around him. Whether it was offering a helping hand to a neighbor or providing support to friends and family, Jimmy’s selflessness knew no bounds. His compassion and willingness to assist others were the cornerstones of his character, earning him the respect and love of all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patty Strate; his stepson, David Luther Deal, II of Hampton, FL; his stepdaughters, Vickie Lynn Williams (Clay) of Graceville, FL, and Tammy Rebecca Deal-Soto (Tony) of Malone, FL; his brother, Chuck Strate of Michigan; and his sister, Joanne Strate of Minnesota. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Arthur, Emile, and Mark; his sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Jill, and Delia; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

The family is planning a private memorial service to be held at a later date to honor Jimmy’s life and legacy.
