Daniel “Dan” Irlbeck

Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel “Dan” Irlbeck, 63, of Lamberton will be Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.

Daniel Charles Irlbeck was born on August 22, 1960, in Redwood Falls, MN, to LeRoy and Jane (Baune) Irlbeck. He was baptized in Vesta and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Dan enlisted in the National Guard his junior year of high school, and he graduated in 1979. After high school, he attended Alexandria Tech for Carpentry. He married Sharmain Haarstad on June 10, 1982, and they had two children: Tarah Lynn and Meghan Rose. Dan then attended Jackson Tech for Plumbing. He married Roxy Pierson on July 15, 1989, and they had two children: Andrew Daniel and Jillian Lee. Dan lived in Hanska and worked various places as a plumber. While working as a plumber he met his best friend of over 30 years Larry (Lawrence) Allen. He later divorced and moved back to his hometown, then to Lamberton a few years later. He retired in 2022.

Danny loved to tell jokes and have a good laugh, although some were inappropriate. He loved to visit with anyone who would listen. He was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends…and by friends, we mean anybody he talked to. He had a hobby of patrolling the city of Lamberton, AKA the next chief of police. He baked pies, rolls, and angel food cakes to share with others, just like his Dad. Dan volunteered for the Food Shelf and was a member of the New Ulm Lions Club. He was also famous, as he drove Miss Daisy around (his loving nickname for his mom).

Dan died on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his residence in Lamberton. He is survived by his children Meghan (Mohammad) Irlbeck-Al Gharaibeh, Andrew (Holly) Irlbeck, and Jillian Grabinski; grandchildren Kaetlin Caylao, Tracer Caylao, Emmy Grabinski, Lucy Grabinski, Jude Al Gharaibeh, and Charlee Grabinski; his four legged best friend and companion Buddy, because he could never find the right “one;” his mother Jane Irlbeck; siblings Tammy (Harley) Duscher, Amy (Tom Norstegard) Skalbeck, and David (Jill) Irlbeck; godchildren Shannon Koenen, Hailey Irlbeck, and Addison Irlbeck; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tarah Irlbeck, father LeRoy Irlbeck, and grandparents Gregor and Elnora Baune and Charles and Grace Irlbeck.
