NEW ULM–Diane Murphy, age 78 of New Ulm died Monday, April 8, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Diane is survived by her son, Brian (Allie) Murphy of New Ulm; grandchildren, Nathan Murphy and Logan Murphy; step-grandchildren, Michael Schmidt and Jacob (Emily) Schmidt; sisters, Linda Clyne, Monica (Danny) Gieseke, Julie (Pat) Schugel all of New Ulm; brother, Sam (Jo) Clyne of New Ulm; brothers-in-law, Leroy Rewitzer and James Heck, both of New Ulm; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard in 2022; sisters, Marlene Rewitzer, Mary Hogen, Connie Heck, Roxanne Schwecke; nephew Daniel J. Clyne.

Diane Delores Clyne was born August 28, 1945 in New Ulm to Martin and Ruth (Guendner) Clyne. She attended New Ulm High School. On June 11, 1966, Diane was united in marriage to Richard Murphy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. The couple was blessed with one son, whom together they raised in New Ulm. Diane worked her entire career at 3M, until retiring in 2005. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and especially spending time with her family. Diane was a devote Catholic and always kept strong in her faith. She was a long-time member of Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Many memories will live on in those who love her. She will be deeply missed. Blessed be her memory.
