He was united in marriage to Margaret Zupfer on July 17, 1957, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. This union blessed the couple with two sons whom together they raised in New Ulm. Early in his working career, Erv worked for his father’s business New Ulm Contracting until 1956. He then went to work for Wallner Construction. Erv eventually took a job working for the Brown County Highway Department where he worked as the General Foreman until his retirement on June 30, 1994. In retirement, Erv enjoyed travelling, and occasionally trying his luck with a trip to the casino. What brought him the most joy in life was always his family. He appreciated every moment he got to spend with his sons, and especially enjoyed having good conversations with his grandchildren. Erv was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm and a lifetime member of the New Ulm American Legion. Blessed be his memory.
