Geri was born to William and Philistine Herring on May 9, 1946 in New Ulm and grew up in Lafayette. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1964. Following graduation, Geri moved to Minneapolis to work for an insurance company. Geri met Jerry Kokesch in St. George on a weekend visit home. Jerry and Geri were united in marriage in 1968 in New Ulm, where they raised their three daughters. Her family has always been her biggest treasure. She never missed a sporting event or activity her children and grandchildren participated in. Geri found so much joy watching the kids do what they love to do! She enjoyed going for coffee with friends, reading, cross stitching, bookclub, playing cards, and golf outings. Before retirement, Geri worked in the guidance office at New Ulm Senior High School for 26 years. She was a member of New Ulm Friends of the Library. She also spent time as a volunteer at the hospital and Heart to Home. She will be greatly missed.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the New Ulm Friends of the Library.
