Ronald “Ron” Alfred Grommersch was born August 12, 1937, in New Ulm to Alfred and Dorothy (Dorn) Grommersch. He attended country grade school in rural Nicollet and later went to work on his family farm. Early in his life, Ron proudly served his country with the U.S. Army National Guard. Ron was united in marriage to Patricia Hendrycks on May 7, 1958. Pat passed on December 27, 2003. He was later united in marriage to Karon Storjohann on June 9, 2007. Ron worked his entire career as a dedicated crop and dairy farmer. As a true steward of the land, Ron dedicated his life to his farm and his family. He had a lifelong passion and a strong affinity to John Deere equipment. Ron also enjoyed any opportunity he had to drive truck hauling grain for anyone who needed help. To give back his farming community, Ron served on the Nicollet Farmers Exchange Board. Ron always enjoyed a nice night out with friends, family and neighbors at the Klossner House. When he wasn’t working on the farm, Ron enjoyed relaxing on area lakes fishing. Countless memories were made on fishing trips with close friends “up-north.” He and Karon enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors playing cards and other games as well. Ron was a dedicated member at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet where he volunteered when needed, and served some time on the church council. Ron was proud of his faith, his farm, but what brought him the most joy in life was always his family. He especially enjoyed getting to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. His memory will forever stay in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
