James J. Haas
James (Jim) J. Haas, 64, of Lafayette died unexpectantly Dec 24. He was born Sept 7,1959 in New Ulm to LeRoy and Violet (Fischer) Haas, the fifth of eight children. Jim is survived by sisters Barb (Bill) Dahm,Linda (Craig) Anderson, Sharon Haas, brothers Tom (LuAnn) Haas, Dick Haas, a large extended family and many friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Laurie Matter and her husband Joe, and brother Kenny Haas.
Jim attended New Ulm schools with the class of 1978. He served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Jim’s work career included construction work, 3M and cabinet making. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and spending time outdoors.
A celebration of life will be held summer 2024. Rest in Peace Ripper.
