She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, parents Elmer and Willa Fluegge, New Ulm, sisters Beverly and Laneta (Keven) Guth of Hutchinson, brother Lester (Carol) Fluegge of New Ulm.

She is survived by sisters Mari (Don) Kassuelke, New Ulm; Jerilyn (Ken) Hall, Park Hill; Oklahoma and Sue Meyer, New Ulm; borthers Robert (Chizuru) and Timothy, both of Claremore, Oklahoma.

Ruth grew up in Klossner but headed to Minneapolis shortly after graduating to work for White Motors and later Carlson Group.

Ruth and Gerald were married in 1972 and were together for 46 years until his death in 2019. They summered at the cabin on Lake Mille Lacs and wintered in Mercedes Texas.

Ruth was an avid reader and was involved in Red Hats, her friends group, The Tetons and helped organize the Red Cross blood drives and enjoyed singing in the choir for Sunday services.

For 23 years, Ruth was secretary for the Fluegge family reunions during which time she updated the family tree book twice which was no easy task having over 15,000 entries.

The family is thankful for El Rey Home Care and Ruth’s friends and neighbors, which allowed Ruth to remain at home with her little dog Copo.
