COMFREY–Leon Haala, 78, of Comfrey, MN died on December 10, 2023, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center in Sleepy Eye, MN. Visitation will be on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey, MN. Service will be held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

The clergy will be Fr. Mark Steffl. Interment will be at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey, MN. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey, MN. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Leon served in the Navy from 1964-1968, stationed primarily in San Diego, CA. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Tamera (Nick) Berning, 2 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Bruce Haala.
