Melvin Gene Neidecker
VAN BUREN–Melvin Gene Neidecker, 89, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in Van Buren. He was the owner/operator of Neidecker Plumbing & Heating in Van Buren. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of New Hope Methodist Church. He was member of the Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association, Oak Grove Water Users, Farm Bureau and a former President of the Van Buren School Board. He was preceded in death by wife Wanda; brothers Harold, Clayton, Johnny, Therol (Doc), Leonard and Bobby Neidecker; one grandson Nathan Neidecker; one great-great grandson Caden Jenkins.
He is survived by three sons Mark Neidecker and wife Phyllis, Bruce Neidecker and wife Stephanie, and Scott Neidecker and wife Lee Ann all of Van Buren; three sisters Sandra Goodman of Van Buren, Frances Childs of Little Rock and Wilda Ginn of Heber Springs; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were November 20, 2023 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial followed at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Pallbearers were Dennis Neidecker, Brad Neidecker, Tim Neidecker, Stan Neidecker, Travis Yarbrough and Johnny Neidecker. Family visited with relatives and friends at Ocker Funeral Home, Van Buren.
