Steven Harley Holm was born June 20, 1951 to Leonard and Rosella (Groebner) Holm in New Ulm. He attended country school, graduated from Cathedral High School in New Ulm, and went on to earn his associate degree from Normandale College. On September 20, 1975, Steve was united in marriage to Lynette Menk, in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with two children. In addition to help raising his kids, Steve began his career at Carl’s Corner in Essig as a pizza cook and bartender. He also worked at the Wagon Wheel West and Mowan’s Bar, farmed from 1975-1993, and then was a salesman at Schell’s Brewery from 1993-2017 when he retired. Steve kept active in the community by serving on the Essig Coop Board of Directors from 1986-1993, as well as the Brown County Soil & Water Conservation District from 1987-1998. In his free time, he enjoyed playing baseball for Essig, coaching the first girls softball team in Sigel, coaching boys baseball in Sigel, fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing, camping, and just about any activity he could do with his family. Many fond memories were made going on annual fishing and hunting trips with his friends and the vacation to Hawaii in 2019 with his family.

Steve will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
