Mark William Wilfahrt

NEW ULM–Mark William Wilfahrt, age 52, put up a courageous fight to live, but died July 13, 2023 at Old Main Village, Mankato, Minnesota.

A private family service will be held. Mark will be buried with his dad, Bill Wilfahrt in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Mark chose to will his body to the University of Minnesota Medical School Bequest Program.

Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is assisting the family.

Mark was born in New Ulm, Minnesota on October 10, 1970 to Bill and Marlys (Keute) Wilfahrt. Mark went to Hoover Grade School in North Mankato, West-View High School in Wolcottville, Indiana and graduated from West High School, Mankato, Minnesota. Mark went on to school at South Central Collage in North Mankato in auto mechanics. Mankato Ford sent him on to School at Ford Motor Company in St Paul, Minnesota to be a specialist in his field. Mark worked at Mankato Ford for 27 years.

Mark enjoyed golfing, darts, pool, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He especially enjoyed fishing with his Dad and deer hunting with his Dad and uncles, Micky Wilfert, and Gene and Larry Wilfahrt.

Mark is survived by his mother, Marlys; his aunts and uncles, Lester Keute of Palmdale, California, Arlyn (Lois) Keute, Chuck Leske, Tom (Janet) Wilfahrt, Judy Zahn, Gene (Candy) Wilfahrt, Larry (Mary) Wilfahrt, Rita Schoof, Agnes Wilfert and Joann Wilfahrt, all of New Ulm; and many first cousins who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wilfahrt in 2011; his grandparents, Delores and Roland Keute, and Herb and Francis Wilfahrt; his aunt and uncle and God Parents, Elaine and Harlan Wilfahrt; his aunts, JoAnn Leske and Diane Keute; his uncles, Floyd “Micky” Wilfert and Howard Schoof; and his first cousins, Micky Wilfert, Lindsey Overbay, and Travis Keute.

Mark will be missed terribly by his mother Marlys, his best friend and golfing buddy, Dan Huso, and Dan’s dog Comet.
