NEW ULM–Carol F. Kuehn, age 87, of New Ulm passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Father Joshua Bot will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes – North Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the North Chapel.
The Christian Mother’s Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Carol is survived by her nine children, Steven (Vickie) Kuehn, Diane Whittington, Debra (Garry) Konakowitz, Thomas Kuehn, Mark Kuehn, Alan Kuehn, James (Tammy) Kuehn; Patti Torgerson, and Shari (Daniel) Kretsch; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Helen (Vernon) Stein, Leon (Jane) Rotering, Joseph (Judy) Rotering, Jane Ann Walkush; brother-in-law, Raymond Kuehn; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Kuehn; her parents; two grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; mother & father-in-law, Mike and Agnes Kuehn; brothers, Robert and Roger Rotering; sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa (Alvin) Windschitl, Doris (Bob) Pfarr; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn (Florence) Kuck, Doris Kuehn; and brother-in-law, Bob Walkush.
Carol Florence Rotering was born June 1, 1936 to Waldemar and Annie (Drexler) Rotering in Searles. She attended school in Searles and Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. Carol was united in marriage to Ralph Kuehn on November 24, 1954 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with nine children that Carol dedicated her life to raising. In addition to being a mother, Carol also helped Ralph on the family farm until they retired in 1990. She was an active member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, as well as a member of Catholic United Financial, Christian Mothers Society, and CCW. Carol loved going bowling, playing cards, dancing, embroidery, and making quilts for her family. Above all else, Carol loved all the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
