CHANHASSEN–Susan (Hess) Lorentz, age 80 of Chanhassen, formerly from New Ulm passed awayWednesday, August 30, 2023 at Riley Crossing Senior Living Center. A graveside service will occur in the spring at the New Ulm Cemetery.

Susan Elizabeth (Hess) Lorentz, daughter of Keith and Elizabeth (Bartlett) Hess, was born September 14, 1942 in Minneapolis. Susan graduated from Southwest High School in 1960 and attended the University of Minnesota. She later worked for Northwestern Bell, TWA as a flight attendant, and alongside her husband at John G. Kinnard. Susan met her husband Jim on a blind date. They were united in marriage on September 28, 1963. Blessed with three children she is survived by sons Scott Lorentz (Jodi), John Lorentz (Amy), daughter Elizabeth Horscroft (Paul), and grandchildren Benjamin, Natalie, Nicholas, Mitchell, Isla and Will. In addition, she is survived by her older brother Tom Hess (Marie) of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law Kay (Lorentz) Larson (Ron) of Corvallis, OR; and brother-in-law Ken Lorentz (Cathy) of St. Cloud, MN. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Jim.
