Delphine is survived by her daughter, Mary (Daryl) Roth of New Ulm; her sons, Mike (Maura) Domeier of Sandy, Utah, Dan (Kathy) Domeier of Bemidji; her grandchildren, Marni (Brady) Windschitl, Mallory (Justin) Rick, Bridget (Brandon) Stringham, Craig (Katie) Domeier, Ross Domeier, Scott Domeier, Ryan (Catheryne) Domeier; her great-grandchildren, Madeline Rick, Elliot Rick, Zoey Stringham; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Domeier in 2013; her sisters, Marge Laingen and Myrtle Frederickson; and her brothers, Byron, Burton, and Arden Broste.

Delphine “Del” Louise Broste was born November 18, 1929, in Hanska, Minnesota to Albert and Olga (Norsby) Broste. Growing up in Hanska, Del was a 1947 graduate from Hanska High School, and later furthered her education attending the New Ulm School of Practical Nursing. Delphine was united in marriage on August 9, 1951, in New Ulm to James Otto Domeier. This union blessed the couple with a daughter and two sons whom together they raised in New Ulm. While helping to raise her family, Del worked outside of the home as a caring and compassionate nurse, starting her career at the Union Hospital before working at Highland Manor in New Ulm for the rest of her nursing career. Delphine’s life revolved around her family. A special monthly event was the gathering of the “Quilting Cousins.” Delphine, along with her sisters, Marge and Myrtle, and their cousins would get together to visit, drink coffee, and craft quilts for weddings, baby showers, and other events; with a few fun road trips along the way. Delphine was nearly always in an uplifting mood, and could commonly be found whistling around the house, happy with the day. Delphine was a devout and dedicated member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Although she lived a strong and beautiful 93 years, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. These memories and countless others will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew her best. Blessed be her memory.

Delphine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of the Oak Hills Living Center and Ridgeway on 23rd for their loving care they provided over the years.
