Carol Huelskamp

NEW ULM–Carol Huelskamp, age 92, of New Ulm passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 1st, 2023, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow the Mass in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH CHAPEL.

Carol leaves behind; her children Cheryl (Skip) Duggan of Berlin, MA; Mark (special friend Marla) Huelskamp of Missoula, MT; Laurie (Dave) Allison of Dallas, TX; Lisa (Dave) Hallforth of Gulfport, MS; Kevin (Shannon) Huelskamp of Lewiston, MN; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and her sister Evelyn Anderson.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; daughter, Jane Vavra; and great granddaughter, Stella Donahue.

Carol Agnes Zins was born and raised in New Ulm, MN, the daughter of Martin and Viola (Sondag) Zins. She married the love of her life, William Huelskamp, at the Swan Lake Catholic Church on August 8, 1951. After marriage the couple raised their family and farmed together in rural Lafayette. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Carol was a devoted wife and mother she loved watching her children play sports and perform in musicals. She enjoyed baking and was known for her cookies and candy, but above all else Carol loved to spend time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her, blessed be her memory.
