Priscilla Evangeline Thompson

Feb. 3, 1940-July 17, 2023

STEPHENVILLE–Priscilla Evangeline Thompson (Pat) was born on February 3rd, 1940, to Edmond and Alice Palmer. Pat grew up with two sisters and a brother, Bea, Agnes and Edmond in the small town of Fairfax, Minnesota. She had an insatiable curiosity and an adventurous spirit, always eager to explore new places and cultures. Her stylistic flair was evident throughout her life, as she effortlessly blended elegance and grace into everything she did.

In her early twenties, Pat met the love of her life, Darrell “Doug” Thompson from Stephenville, Texas. The two were married in Lusk, Wyoming on October 29th, 1962. Doug and Pat lived and traveled the globe. They lived in England, Scotland, Australia, the Middle East and Hawaii and traveled to South America, Alaska and every state in the US. A steadfast rule they followed was to include their family in all their travels whenever possible. They would eventually settle down in Stephenville, Texas. Their love story was one of devotion and companionship, leading to a beautiful marriage that spanned over five decades. Together, they raised two daughters, Pam, and Leah, instilling in them the values of kindness, generosity, and empathy that defined Pat’s character.

Throughout her life, Pat’s caring personality extended beyond her immediate family. She actively participated and donated to many charitable organizations and did volunteer work at the Stephenville Hospital. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she touched the lives of countless individuals through kindness and compassion for those less fortunate.

Her fortitude and strength were particularly evident during difficult times in her life, especially with the unexpected passing of her husband of over 50 years. She faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience. Pat’s unwavering optimism and ability to find silver linings even in the darkest clouds inspired those around her to approach life with a similar positive outlook.

As a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and wife, Pat’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren Danny and Brittany, doting on them with unconditional love and encouragement. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and a sense of unity that only a matriarch like Pat could foster.

On July 17, 2023, surrounded by her daughters Pam and Leah, Pat passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate to have her touch their lives.

Pat is survived by her two loving daughters, Pamela Thompson Sheahan and her husband Mark Sheahan from Marysville, California. Leah Scoggins and her husband Billy Scoggins from Dallas Texas. Grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Alvarado and her husband Israel Alvarado from Rota, Spain and Daniel Ryan Sheahan and his wife Shyla Sheahan from Yuba City, California. Sisters, Bea Antonson from Buffalo, Minnesota, and Agnes Mack from Bertha, Minnesota and brother Edmond Palmer from New Ulm, Minnesota.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Edmond and Alice Palmer and her husband Darrell “Doug” Thompson.

A Catholic memorial service was held on July 20th in Stephenville, Texas. The celebration of life was reserved to the immediate family.

As we say goodbye to Priscilla Evangeline Thompson, may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were touched by her grace and compassion, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.
