NEW ULM–Lori Achman, 62, of New Ulm died Friday, August 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm with Father Jerry Meidl officiating. A private family burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Lori is survived by her husband, Joe Achman; daughters, Sondra (Chris) Minor of Willmar, Tessa Achman (Eric Ellingsburg) of New Ulm, Allissa Gomez of New Ulm and Vanessa Achman (Jesse Netzke) of New Ulm; step-sons, Mike (Tricia) of Dassel and Tim Achman of New Ulm; sisters, Gail (Gregg) Menk of Eagen Cheryl (Mark) Senske of Winthrop.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Brandel; son-in-law, Rudy Gomez.

Lori Jean Brandel was born November 24, 1960 in New Ulm to Harold and Marlys (Schugel) Brandel. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and Mankato Cosmetology School. Lori was united in marriage to Joe Achman on February 1, 1980 in New Ulm. Lori was known in her community as a beautician, bartender at Mowan’s and working at UCU. She was friendly and outgoing making many friends throughout the years. Lori enjoyed baking with Stacy, family and friends, crocheting, cross-stitch and trips to the casino. Her favorite was playing Keno with her husband Joe. She loved to spoil her grandchildren especially at the holidays. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace dear Lori.
