Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel in New Ulm, with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel, and will continue for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Steve is survived by his brothers, Doug (Diane), James, Robert (Patti), and Mike (Lois) Bode; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steven Willard Bode was born on February 6, 1952 in New Ulm to Willard & Irma (Schmidt) Bode. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1970. He then worked in the food service industry his entire career. Steve owned and operated the Deli at Kraft Foods in New Ulm. He later managed the kitchens at numerous assisted living facilities. Steve was united in marriage to Carol Mecklenberg at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm in 1985. They later separated. Steve loved cooking for family and friends, family gatherings, and playing Bingo and cards. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him.
