A memorial service will take place at 1pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

An additional celebration of life will be held in New Ulm at a later date.

Terry is survived by his children, Khanya Lemus of St. Michael, Angie (Mark) Carik of Mayer, Danelle Bode of Mankato, Elizabeth (Scott) Bode of Lennox, SD, Zach Bode of Mankato, Sara Bode of Mankato; grandchildren, James, Zoe, Ellie, Kaylie, Gracie, Zepplyn, Jerzy Lane, Nevaeh; sister, Connie (Larry) Postel of New Ulm; nephews, Larame and Landon Postel; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother Elaine (Larson) Bode; grandparents, Harry and Freda Larson; long-time partner, Iona Lutt.

Terry was born March 1, 1955 in New Ulm. He was a 1973 graduate of New Ulm High School. Terry worked at various jobs throughout the years, but spent some time with Kraft, AMPI, Artstone and Hanson Silo Company. He worked various construction jobs during his career and was also a skilled mason. Terry moved to Chisholm in the mid-2000s, where he started Bode’s Bear Guiding and Outdoor Adventures. Terry enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was always happy and joking around. Terry had a special bond with all of his dogs, most recently Loki. He loved his children, grandchildren, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Blessed be his memory.
