GIBBON — Mary Rieke, age 75, of Gibbon passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – Gibbon Chapel.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – Gibbon Chapel.

Mary is survived by her husband, Chuck Rieke; children, James Rieke of Eyota, Jodi Wiirre of Perham, Jason (Jessica) Rieke of Gibbon, Jeremy (Nicole) Rieke of Gibbon, Jessica Rieke of Fairfax, Jackie Rieke of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Deegan of Eden Prairie, Carol (Doug) Bloedel of Marshfield, Wisconsin, Barb (Joel) Zimmerman of Mankato; sister-in-law, Janice Schreiner of New Ulm; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter-in-infancy, Kalley Felt; brother-in-infancy, David Schreiner; and brother, Bill Schreiner.

Mary Margaret Schreiner was born June 2, 1947 to Nicholas and Ethel (Reding) Schreiner in New Ulm. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1965. On May 21, 1966, Mary was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Rieke at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and their union was blessed with six children. Mary dedicated much of her life to raising her children. In addition to being a mother, Mary also worked in various factories, group homes in Fairfax, and as a bookkeeper for Chuck Rieke Trucking Inc. In her free time, Mary enjoyed going to the lake with her family, crocheting, making quilts, attending book club, and gardening in her younger years. Above all else, she loved the time she was able to spend with all of her family. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
