Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery following the service where full military honors will be provided by the Nicollet Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-North Chapel in New Ulm, and continue from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the church in rural Courtland.

Don is survived by his wife, Margo Bode of Courtland; his sons, Randy Bode of Courtland, Terry Bode of Nicollet; four grandchildren and sisters, Bernice Thompson of St. Peter, Marcella Ohland of Hutchinson, Lois Ditzler of Manchester, Missouri, Geraldine Schmidt of North Mankato, Sharon Osborne of St. Peter, Virginia Jakobe of Mankato.

Donald William Bode was born Feb. 26, 1932, in Courtland Township to Gerhard and Agnes (Lange) Bode.
