Robert Weigelt
Robert Weigelt, age 67, of New Ulm died unexpectedly Friday, January 20, 2023 at his home.
The simple things in life were his greatest pleasures. “Bobber” loved his family and fur babies, life on the farm, and all things outdoors.
“Bob” proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Plane Captain. He worked many years driving truck and in manufacturing. He semi-retired from NAPA Auto Parts in New Ulm, continuing to work there part time. He truly enjoyed his job working with and for people he described as “just wonderful.”
“Bobba” very much lived life to the fullest and had a trunkful of crazy stories. His favorite to tell, though, was finding out he had a brother and a sister. Knowing he was adopted, he was an only child until 2017 when he learned of his birth mother. He was beyond thrilled to reach out to Steve Hays and Susie Holznagle to let them know they had a brother. The joy this brought him can’t be measured.
“Rob” loved his in-laws, Karen and Mike Aronson and his outlaw, Frank Sackett and their beautiful families. He felt so blessed for the time he spent with his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
“PopPop’s” grandbabies Parker and Ella Weisbrich, Allie and Sam Moline, and Hunter, Haillie, and Kolton Sizer were his pride and joy. He cherished his girls Kari Weigelt, Stacy Weisbrich, and bonus daughter Amanda Zeig.
Robert was given many terms of endearment, but his favorite, “Poppa,” was given to him by his wife Pats. She was his everything. He was giving, loving, and insanely funny. He was all heart and unapologetically himself — always — and will be painfully missed.
A celebration of his life with family and friends will take place this summer – on the farm.
Forever and always.
