Lorraine Nelson, age 90, passed away Sept. 18, 2022, at her home in Ecumen Pathstone Mankato. She was born in Brown County on Nov. 2, 1931, to James and Hulda (Hoeper) Jorgenson. She grew up on a farm in rural Hanska. She was a 1949 graduate of Hanska High School. Lorraine married Norman Nelson on March 15, 1949. They had three children, and she became a stay-at-home mom. They farmed together in Linden Township until moving to Hanska in 2010. She was a member of Linden Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA and American Legion Auxiliary. When Norman passed away in 2015, she moved to Mankato to be closer to her daughter. She was a gentle spirit who never complained, and the staff at Pathstone Assisted Living loved her.
