Arlene C. Anderson Miller
Arlene C. Anderson Miller, age 95, of Madelia, formerly of Hanska, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes-SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hanska.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Arlene is survived by her daughters, Julie Miller and Dorene Miller of Denver, Colorado; son, David Miller of Hanska; two grandchildren, Andrew Miller and Jennifer Miller; one great-grandchild, Jace Miller; sister, Jean (Wendell) German of Richfield; brothers, Leslie (Patty) Anderson of Burnsville and Warren (Garnett) Anderson of Hanska; brother-in-law, Norman Miller of Hanska; sister-in-law, Evelyn Amundson of Littleton, Colorado; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, in 2009; sister-in-law, Helen Miller; and brother-in-law, Arden Amundson.
Arlene Clarice Anderson was born May 15, 1927, in Linden Township to Louis and Julia (Olson) Anderson. She was baptized at Linden Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a lifetime member. Arlene graduated from Hanska High School and spent a year at Mankato Community College. She worked at Federated Hardware Mutual Insurance Company in Owatonna, Union Hospital in New Ulm and State Bank of Hanska for several years. Arlene and Melvin farmed in Wing, North Dakota, and Linden Township for a majority of her life. She lived on the Anderson family farm from 1952-2004, when she and Melvin moved to New Ulm. She was a 4-H leader, ALCW member and a member on the Zion Church Council; she also taught bible school and Sunday school for many years. Arlene was very loved by her family and will be deeply missed. Blessed be her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the Zion Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
