She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2006; son, Allan in 2017; sisters, Clara Helget and Lorraine James; and brothers, Ben, John, Leonard, Art, Joe Jr., and Wendelin Schroepfer.
Marcella Elizabeth Schroepfer was born on Aug. 29, 1924, in Albin Township to Joseph and Mary (Helget) Schroepfer. She attended country school in Albin Township. Marcella met her future husband, John Stueber, at George’s Ballroom in New Ulm. They were later married on June 5, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sigel Township, where they worked on the farm for Marcella’s brother, Wendelin. Marcella was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the Christian Mothers Society. She enjoyed cooking, especially sour kraut and dumplings, hosting family holidays, baking, canning and gardening. Marcella went through some obstacles in life and used her faith in herself and family to overcome those challenges. The most important thing to her was her family. Marcella had a special bond with her great-granddaughter, Peyton, and recently had a great-granddaughter born, Lexa Renee, whom she got to meet in her final months. Marcella is gone but can never be replaced. Blessed be her memory.
