Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors following the memorial service. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 in the Zion Cemetery in rural Nicollet.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Jessi Blank of Essig; son, Jeremy Blank of New Ulm; grandchildren, Derek Blank, Dominick Swinford, Dylan Swinford, Brook Swinford, Braelynn Blank; sister, Norene (Ron) Schlueter; brothers, Brent (Bev) Blank, Kevin (Joan) Blank; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bruce Vernon Blank was born August 19, 1949 to Vernon and Elaine (Werner) Blank in New Ulm. He graduated from Nicollet Public High School in 1967 and began working at Alumacraft. Bruce was then drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he began working at Dotson Iron Castings, where he retired after 44 years. In his retirement, Bruce enjoyed going on road trips, spending time at the family cabin, going snowmobiling, deer hunting, walking, and exercising. He was also an avid reader and loved getting his morning coffee at Burger King. Many fond memories were made going to the bar with the guys every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Bruce will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
