Bruce was then drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he began working at Dotson Iron Castings, where he retired after 44 years. In his retirement, Bruce enjoyed going on road trips, spending time at the family cabin, going snowmobiling, deer hunting, walking, and exercising.
