COMFREY — Sheldon Schuelke, age 69, of Comfrey died on March 6, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Due to COVID-19, visitation will be a “walk through” visitation to avoid congregating or gathering inside the building. All who attend are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Service will be held at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 11 a.m. Burial will be a New Hope Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey. The clergy will be Jerome Klotz. Interment will be at the New Hope Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey.

Sheldon Schuelke was born on June 11, 1951 in Comfrey, the son of Ewald and Dorothy (Prechel) Schuelke. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1969. Sheldon drove semi-trucks for 33 years, farmed, and also raised hogs until the tornado. On April 17, 2004, Sheldon was united in marriage to Marlene Beyer. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, talking about farming in his shop, and talking about and riding his Harley Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Adam (Jamie) Kopesky, Phil (Ashley) Kopesky, and Christina (Ross) Fischer; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, LuAnn Augustin, Preston Schuelke, and Colleen Havens; nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
