A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Pastor Erik Karlson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Severance Clear Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural Gibbon.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon.

Dan is survived by his spouse, Marlene Woods of Fairfax; daughter, Jamie Rustad; son, Chad Woods; grandchildren, Noah, Elias, Caleb and Ashalyn; sister, Barbara Yescavage; brother, Greg (Beverly) Woods and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Daniel Harold Woods was born February 26, 1952 in New Ulm to Harold and Eunice (Peterson) Woods. He was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon. After graduating high school, Daniel was united in marriage to Marlene Smit on July 17, 1971 in Mountain Lake. Daniel then enlisted in the Army and served his country from 1972 to 1975, where he was stationed in Alaska. Living there with Marlene and his children was the proudest moment of his life. Dan loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding, and photography. After they moved back to Minnesota, Dan worked at Isaksons, Northern Insulation, trucking and at Jackpot Junction until he retired. In retirement, his greatest joy was getting to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
